The impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) on exportation by Turkey business

Regarding report of Survey (BICS) of The Impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) Wave 4 who were continuing to trade and whose financial performance was outside normal expectations, the majority of exporting businesses (64%) reported that they are exporting same as before , and 59% of importing businesses reported that they are importing less than normal.

One in five (20%) of these businesses reported that exporting has not been affected by COVID-19, and 29% that importing has not been affected by COVID-19; and only a small proportion reported that they are exporting or importing more than normal, 3% in both cases.

It is a fact that after Covid 19, China experienced a loss of power in the sector. This situation shows with the figures given power to Turkey.

Due to increasing global demand as a result of the temporary reduction of production capacity in China , it may attract global importers to invest Turkey both in the medium and long run ..

The most important of all these opportunities is the increasing global demand as a result of the decrease in the production capacity of China in the short term, in the medium and long term. The permanent work that may be made in Turkey in the following sectors global importers may lead to new opportunities for Turkish exporters.

• Energy
• Healtcare Sector
• Construction
• Food

The list of suffer the most from a chinese slowdown

Leaving the numbers aside, I would like to share with you a few details I have observed.

Following the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the measures taken, including countries’ travel restrictions, have created an unprecedented shock to global trade (WTO; OECD; IMF).

This situation, of course, led to the emergence of alternative sales networks.

Covid19 is a fact that negatively affects all producers who produce and sell in the local market,

and this situation creates an increasingly negative picture.

However, when the producers who turn this situation into an advantage are analyzed, it is seen that they attach more importance to export sales.

I observe that these companies actively use social media and share more active advertisements on Google-Linkedin and similar platforms.

It is a fact that business people have to keep up with the new system with Distance Education, Webinar meetings and recently started E-Fairs.

I think that business people who cannot do this new things correctly on time , they will seriously fall behind in trade success ..
